About Simbarashe Murondoti
Simbarashe Absolom Murondoti is the senior partner of Absolom & Shepherd Attorneys. He has vast experience in corporate and commercial law cases, both in litigation and transaction advisory. He has worked on a number of high value multi-million dollar mandates of diverse nature. Part of his past work includes the recovery of 38 million Yuan (5.6 million USD) in a multi-jurisdictional complex investment dispute. He has also advised a superior court in Europe (Dresden) on Zimbabwe’s currency laws. Apart from his gravitas in corporate law matters, Simbarashe is a renowned authority on cybersecurity and technology law, having authored the nation’s first academic commentary on cybersecurity law. He also drafted the Information Communication Technology & Cybersecurity Guidelines for the Law Society of Zimbabwe, which are applicable on all legal practitioners in Zimbabwe. He is a Certied Ethical Hacker, a Microsoft Technology Associate and an author on data privacy and cybersecurity. His notable work includes
- Recovery of 38 000 000 RMB (Approx. 5.8 mil USD) in a complex investment dispute.
- Successful litigation in a dispute over 25 ha of prime land with a market valuation of USD$ 4.2 mil.
- Participation in a high value copper mining dispute.
- Advising a German based investor regarding disinvestment of valuable assets with an estimate value of USD$ 12 mil.
- Successful representations of a group of residents challenging a change of use permit.
- Litigation in a shareholder dispute in a high value insurance and funeral services concern.
- Co-drafting the code of practice on safeguarding at the Wilton Park Conference (United Kingdom).
- Advised the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany as an appointed Rechtsanwalt.
