Specialising in the resolution of complex litigation, our firm has always taken a strategic and proactive approach, guaranteeing each client first-rate legal support, for companies, institutions and individuals in particular.
The ways in which we stand out in litigation advisory services are as follows:
a. In-depth, Multidisciplinary Legal Expertise
– In-depth case review;
– Cross-disciplinary knowledge of all areas of law.
b. Strategic & Preventive Approach
– Conflict prevention;
– Anticipation of obstacles.
c. Communication Excellence & Transparency
– Good listening skills and personalised advice, because we believe it is important to involve the customer in the project by submitting all draft deeds to them for comment.
d. Use of Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods
– Promotion of arbitration and mediation;
– Flexibility and adaptability.
We are currently more active in private-public sector litigation, financial, commercial litigation and labour litigation. In fact, this type of litigation is the most prevalent, as it concerns dynamic sectors in which the emergence of a dispute is seen as something harmful, affecting the pursuit of the activities of each of the parties to the dispute.
In such cases, our firm’s assistance is essential in guiding the parties through the dispute resolution process.
In Senegal, the main dispute resolution institutions are the common law courts and the Centre d’Arbitrage, de Médiation et de Conciliation de Dakar (CIAM). Meanwhile, at the community law level, we have the CCJA.
These institutions supervise litigation proceedings (arbitration and mediation). They also monitor procedures at every stage, from implementation to decision, and each institution requires a high level of technical competence that firms must integrate and apply in their practice.
Sharing information and ideas through publications, conferences and events is essential both for the professional development of lawyers and for the evolution of the legal system.
The following are the main aspects that illustrate the importance of these interactions:
a. Updating legal knowledge through publications and conferences;
b. Reinforcement of practical and theoretical skills through case study publications and conference workshops;
c. Encouraging collaboration and sharing of experience by bringing together professionals from differing sectors, including judges, lawyers, notaries and law professors – this direct contact encourages the sharing of experience on similar cases, innovative legal practices or dispute resolution strategies;
d. Influencing public politics and judicial reform through opinion and research publications, as well as contributions to public debates at events.
